I'm working for a law firm doing contract paralegal work and head their accounting department. I deferred law school for a year from UC Hastings and UC Davis to travel, snowboard more, gain more experience and relax. To keep myself even more busy, I've started up my own internet company on the side, teach ESL/Citizenship classes at El Centro de la Raza, and kickbox. As you can see, I definitely need a vacation!

His news of some of the rest of the gang:

I hope that all is well in Cadiz. Karyn says hi (she is writing me a letter of > recommendation for law school!), as well as Wes (who is still constantly > working), Tara Smith (who is tirelessly raising money for United Way), Sabine > (who is on a Round the World Trip), Josh (still working as a cook), Brigit > (who just got back from the Eastern Bloc after a couple of months of > traveling), and Elizabeth (who's parents just adopted a 9 year old from > Russia). > > Con un abrazo fuerte....

I've had a few career setbacks (in other words, I'm still stuck at KUOW), but I'm working on it. I've been thinking of grad school, but I have fear! I'm still in touch with some of the grupo de '97.

Sabine and Allison are in Thailand right now, and they say they should be in "nam" soon. Then I think it is Australia or Indonesia for them. Brigit and Sabine have both been all over Eastern Europe on separate trips. One day they called me at work from somewhere in Croatia.

Wes is working a lot at the Hotel Monaco right now, but I have a feeling he'll either be travelling or going back to school soon. Josh is working now at a restaurant, but he's been back to Spain once or twice in the last year or two.

I run into Zoey once a month or so in Wallingford, where I think she works.

Paul Didier works at Starbucks on Phinney Ridge AND is teaching Spanish to elementary or middle school kids at a private school. He should be a dad by now, too.

Karyn was just in town defending her thesis or something, but I was sick and missed the festivities. I think she likes Stanford (those darned Californians!). I will keep checking in on the website, and you can feel free to drop me a line and let me know how things are going in Cai.

Keep in touch - and come back to Cai! It gets in your blood.
