          elcome to the research group of Elizabeth Oesterle, Ph.D. located at the Virginial Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington.


Our ongoing work investigates supporting cell function and inner ear hair cell regeneration.  We are striving to develop therapies to trigger the production of new sensory hair cells in damaged human ears to alleviate hearing and balance disorders caused by the loss of hair cells.
