This is a Fulbright endeavor and generally geared to participants who have finished their Ph.D.s. "The Fulbright Scholar Program offers lecturing/research/consulting awards in 140 countries. Opportunities are available not only for college and university faculty and administrators, but also for professionals from business and government, as well as artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others. Traditional Fulbright awards are available from two months to an academic year or longer. A new short-term grants program -the Fulbright Senior Specialists Program- offers two-to-six-week grants." They have seven programs:

| "Awards will be made in research-based areas of the behavioral and social sciences, humanities, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, life sciences, education, or for interdisciplinary programs composed of two or more eligible disciplines. Awards will not be made in practice-based professions such as medicine, law, social work, social welfare, library and information science, public health, nursing, administration and management, business, physical education, educational administration and leadership, fine arts, performing arts, speech pathology, audiology, health sciences, home economics, personnel, and guidance.
