"The AAUW Educational Foundation, one of the largest sources of funding exclusively for graduate women in the world, supports aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented."

The AAUW has several grants; especially important are the American Fellowships, Selected Professions Fellowships, and the International Fellowships for non-US citizens.

A small number of fellowships are available in this category for non-academic applications of Ph.D. degrees.

"The Humanities at Work initiative encourages talented humanities PhDs to take their knowledge of human history, society, and culture, along with their skills in languages, communication, project management and critical thinking, and to put them to the service of the larger community.
