Circ Clouds

This project was inspired by (with some code borrowed from) the catalog subject clouds created by David Pattern and described on his blog at: Taggytastic! (part 2).

The purpose of this project is to produce a visual representation of items currently checked out at the Foster Business Library. The data is pulled from a Create List out of our Innovative catalog using the Export function to produce a comma-separate list of call numbers, subjects, titles and bib record numbers (used to create the links back to the public catalog record). The output file looks like this.

The Perl script will create both a call number cloud and a subject cloud. The subject cloud will also produce a second and third level hierarchical cloud of subject headings if the heading has more than 50 items.
