STAGING OF CERVICAL CANCER


Stage 0-CIS

Stage I-confined to cervix

IA. Preclinical carcinoma (diagnosed only by microscopy)

IA1. Minimal microscopically evident stromal invasion

IA2. Microscopically measurable invasive lesion < 5mm

IB. Microscopically measurable invasive lesion > 5mm

Stage II-local extension but not to pelvic wall; involvement of upper 2/3 of vagina ok

IIA. No obvious parametrial involvement

IIB. Obvious parametrial involvement

Stage III-extension to pelvic wall

Stage IV-extention beyond the true pelvis or involving mucosa of bladder or rectum

IVA. Adjacent spread

IVB. Distant spread
