DERMATOLOGY
- Description of skin lesions should include: location, size,
color, mobility, tenderness, whether elevated or ulcerated
- Seborrheic keratosis: on face, upper
extremities, chest; brownish, multiple, 1mm-2cm diam., waxy, raised.
BENIGN. Can tx with 5% 5-FU BID x 2wk until ulceration occurs
- Leukoplakia: PREMALIGNANT; on tongue or mucus
membranes of mouth, gingiva, anus, or vagina
- Intradermal nevus: BENIGN; <1cm diam.,
single, well-defined, circular, elevated, brown sometimes with black
spots, nonulcerated.
- Junctional nevus: PREMALIGNANT; source for most
malignant melanomas; looks like intradermal nevus but larger, often
ulcerated, irreg. border, heterogeneous coloration; suspect melanoma if
getting darker or larger or bleeding or itching. If unsure of diagnosis
