Skiing in the Wallowas!!!

A group of us just got back from an awesome back-country ski trip to the Wallowa (wuh-lah'-wuh) Mountains, which are in the Eagle Cap Wilderness Area of NE Oregon (map).  The folks in our group all came from the greater Seattle area:  Jen Pageler, Steve Henderson, Cory Sutherland, Bill Guthrie, and Mike Etnier.

The trail-head to the huts where we stayed is just outside of Joseph, OR.  It's a seven mile, four hour hike in (on skis, with climbing skins on), but it was totally worth it.  Once we got in, we were pretty much the only people in the entire basin.  You could ski in there for days on end and not have to see anybody else.....

Here are some pictures from our trip.
