I'm a philosopher at the University of Washington. For the most part, I think about space and time.

My current project (with Jim Weatherall) concerns the question of whether the geometry of spacetime can be considered merely a convention. (Answer: No.)

Recently, I was the recipient of the UW Distinguished Teaching Award.
