In my opinion, this is one of the best games available on the Nintendo DS and it once again shows how the Legend of Zelda franchise seems to have the golden touch. Speaking of touch, that is how everything is controlled in this game. You literally don’t touch any of the buttons and use the stylus for controlling absolutely everything. Although this sounds like another game which is trying to force usage of the touch screen, this implementation actually works out very well. I only once or twice found myself thinking that this would be better if I could use traditional controls.
Besides the revolution in control scheme, the rest is pretty standard Zelda fare. You’ll be searching for heart pieces and rupees and fighting all kinds of innovative bosses and enemies along the way. You’ll also have to do some sailing, dungeon raiding, and general exploring but you’ll never feel like it is a chore. Instead, the game is an absolute blast to play and I had a constant stream of fun for the nearly 25 hours of gameplay that I logged.
