Once again the Castlevania system fails to innovate, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing since the series is so much fun already. The main difference here is there are two playable characters which you can swap between at any time with the press of a button. The only problem is that only one of the characters gains experience or some sort of accruing benefit when you play with them, so you’re really encouraged to only use one character for most of the game and then switch only when necessary. I found this game somewhat repetitive but fun. I’d recommend it as one of the better DS games around, but I liked Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow more.
