Final Fantasy I is just as much fun as I remember it. The sound is greatly improved and it's great to hear. However, Final Fantasy II is kind of lame and the leveling system seems fundamentally broken. Instead of using experience points to level up, you level up by using skills. For example, if you want to increase your HP, you need to get attacked a lot. This actually means that the fastest way to level up is to simply attack your own party. This makes about zero sense to me. Furthermore, there is a random battle every three steps which really slows the fun down. However, this was the only thing keeping me sane while I was cooped up in a hotel room in Chicago. I must have logged like 15 hours a day playing this because I was so bored.
