Biking History

Bike Comments Picture Rating
1. The first bike I ever had was this red BMX bike. The frame was way too big for me so instead of feeling like an agile BMX bike, it felt like a heavy mountain bike with only one speed. It was a pretty robust bike though and it got passed down to both my younger brothers. Here's a picture of Tim with the red BMX bike. 4/10
2. Next, for some crazy reason, I got a Huffy Shockwave. My friend called it "Old Ironsides", probably because it weighed as much as an armored ship. That bike really sucked...so I gave it to Jon! Hahahahaha! 2/10
3. One day, we were shopping at Costco and were shocked to see that they also carried bikes! They actually looked pretty cool, so my Dad and I actually bought two of them, one for him and one for me. They were 1991 Skykomish Marble Point bikes. I actually rode mine from 5th grade until the end of Freshman year in college. I basically rode it to the ground. The bike was so thrashed after my freshman year that you couldn't even salvage any parts off it. 5/10
5. After my Skykomish Marble Point broke, I took my Dad's and rode that for the remainder of my undergraduate college life. 5/10

So after 15 years of junky bikes, I just bought the sweetest bike in July 2003. This bike definately gets at least a 9/10 for begin super gnarly. Its a 1999 K2 Flying Monkey. The best part about this bike is that MSRP on it is $1900.00, but I picked it up for only $400! Its a sweet ride at that price.
