Dying languages.  As noted in class, many languages are on the verge of extenction; many more have already been lost.  The below links, from a recent report in the New York Times, nicely illustrates the cost of a lost language.  Click on the below article and video to learn more.

 Music Therapy for Aphasic Patients  This topic came up in class; here's a link to a recent NY Times article that discusses this issue.  There used to be a video interview with him, which was fascinating, but that is no longer available. There are, however, excellent commentaries with other aphasic patients.  Highly recommended!
