Re: Invitation to Participate in Joint
Medical Records Advisory Committee
First Meeting November 18 3-5p, Sze
East/West (D1-084/080)
As the
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Medical Records workgroup begins the next phase of
work addressing operational and patient care-related process changes needed for
the adult inpatient move, we have recognized the need to re-establish the
Medical Records Advisory Committee.
While the operational model for managing medical records and
transcription will be reviewed by the various planning committees including the
Adult Operations Team and the SCCA Operations Team, there is a need for an
advisory group focused on the clinical medical records requirements. The primary objectives of this advisory committee
will be as follows:
To provide
clinical expertise on the use and adequacy of medical information available
both electronically and on paper during the development of an SCCA medical
record and the related processes.
To serve as
a sounding board for the Medical Records workgroup providing consistent,
objective, innovative feedback as work activities are being formulated and
presented.
To serve as
sponsors or champions for the Medical Records team as it introduces and
implements new and/or revised processes, tools, or other ideas needed to effectively
support SCCA operations.
To serve as
both a representative and a liaison for their respective peer groups on Medical
Record workgroup activities, including determination of medical record
requirements & coordination of implementation plans.
We are
pleased to request your participation as a member of our Medical Records
Advisory Committee. We anticipate that
the initial time requirement over the first two to three months of the work
group will require monthly meetings.
Beyond these initial months, we anticipate that the needs of the
workgroup for the adult move will taper down.
The first
meeting of the Advisory Committee will be held from 3-5pm on Thursday, November
18, at the FHCRC, South Lake Union campus, room Sze East/West
(D1-084/080). Please RSVP to Judy Sime,
administrative assistant at FHCRC, phone 667-4865, or email
jsime@fhcrc.org.
We look
forward to working with you as we move forward. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact
us at the following numbers: Aleana Waite, 667-4865, Nancy Dunnington,
598-4348.
