Josi Herron

Josi came to the University of Washington from the University of Great Falls in Montana where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology. During her time as an undergraduate, she participated in summer research programs at universities throughout the country, including the University of Massachusetts-Boston, Stanford University, and the University of Washington. The experience gained from these research programs motivated Josi to study the relationship between human health and the environment. Josi joined the Xu lab in the summer of 2015 as an Environmental Toxicology PhD student. She is investigating quaternary ammonium compounds and their effect on cholesterol biosynthesis in neurodevelopment. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, playing basketball, and drinking good coffee!
