Jenny Pramuk, New Affiliate Curator of Herpetology

Welcome and congratulations to Jenny Pramuk, our newly appointed Affiliate Curator of Herpetology at the Burke Museum!  Jenny is currently an Animal Curator at the Woodland Park Zoo here in Seattle, and her strong roots in herpetology made her an obvious candidate for an Affiliate Curator position here at the Burke Museum.

Jenny Pramuk: releasing Oregon spotted frogs back into the wild.

Jenny’s academic background (Ph.D. at the University of Kansas) includes research on the evolution and taxonomy of amphibians and reptiles as well as work on conservation of amphibians in Africa, South America, and Washington State. She has at least 24 publications in top journals including Evolution, Global Ecology & Biogeography, and Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, as well as in all of the herpetology journals (Herpetologica, Herpetological Monographs, Herpetological Review, Copeia, and Journal of Herpetology.)

We’re looking forward to working with Jenny at the Burke Museum and at the Woodland Park Zoo!
