Objectives:
 

• To practice asking critical questions from a political-economy perspective

• To begin research for your poster project

Part 1

Find an article with pictures/visuals on a development topic that interests you. Be sure to focus on one specific place. Write a short paragraph describing how the issue, people and places are represented in your article.
 
 

Part 2

Review assignment #1 and your lecture notes on political economy. Construct four questions prompting an analysis of the article you found. Questions should be specific to the issue/place you have chosen and be sure to draw at least two of your questions from the political economy perspective. These questions will ideally be the ones you will try to address in your research for your poster project.
