PNWHEALTH is an open, unmoderated discussion list designed to provide discussion and exchange of information among professionals involved in health education practice, health education students, and other interested parties.  The List was initiated by the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the
Society for Public Health Education (PNW SOPHE) and the School Health Association of Washington (SHAW).  Membership in one of those two groups is encouraged, but not a requirement for participation in this group.  The list is not intended to reach nationwide, but rather to serve the needs of
health educators in the Northwest area.  PNW SOPHE currently includes members in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington plus the Province of British Columbia.

The practice of health education at the community, state and federal levels is as diverse as the populations served.  The issues are complex and in a constant state of change, influenced by changes in the health education theory, changes in all areas of health education including managed care, workplace health and wellness, patient education, school health education, public health education practice and
advocacy/policy development plus new learning in the health education academic setting. This list will encourage productive and informative dialogue on any of these issues.  You are invited to join us in learning and sharing to improve health education in our communities!

PNWHEALTH will accept announcements of conferences as long as they are relevant to the topics listed above. Try to keep these brief.

PNWHEALTH does not accept advertisements and/or product announcements from publishers, producers of software, multimedia producers, etc.

Announcements of available health education jobs are welcome.
