Foundation
The Brackett Foundation funds
education
for refugees. Focusing on refugees from Burma, their projects cover the
full
range of education, from nursery school children to college students.
- Clearpath International
Provide prostheses to hundreds of Burmese landmine amputees, and works
to improve artificial limb production and measurement technology.
- Planetcare/Burmese Refugee Care Project
Founded by Ben Brown, MD and based in Sebastopol, California,
the BRCP was started to help the displaced people of Burma. Its
primary focus is to support the work being done by Dr. Cynthia
.
- Burmese
Youth Project A nontraditional aid organization that focuses
on opportunity, art, and clean water
- Global Health Access Project
Provides clinical services and medical resources for programs on
the
Thai-Burma border, including the Backpack Health Worker Project.
- WEAVE
A non-governmental organization in Northern Thailand that supports the
independence and self-sufficiency of Karen hill
tribe women. In addition to supporting maternal child health projects,
WEAVE
sells Karen handicrafts as part of an income generation project for
refugee
women.
