Since 1992, several CS courses have been offered in a new format that synthesizes educational and technological approaches oriented toward improvements in motivation, comprehension, test performance, grades, study skills, retention, and student satisfaction. This same approach is used in CS4984, but enhanced further through use of a Computer-Integrated Classroom with AV Macintosh systems. The key features are discussed and explained, including: modularity, personalization, testing of mastery, tutoring, computer demonstrations, illustrative exercises, and use of a digital library.
