The Global Observatoryexists as a web of topics. For starting a
search, the web has a limited number of
topic pages that act as entry points. The topics chosen for this role are
general research subject
areas which are classified into two types. Process topics are those that
deal with flows across
boundaries, pattern topics are outcomes of these processes which transcend
states. Of course
patterns beget processes and vice-versa; whatever entry point you choose,
links allow you to
explore the whole of our web.
"The search for the mot juste is not a pedantic fad but a vital
necessity. Words are our precision tools. Imprecision engenders
ambiguity and hours are wasted in removing verbal misunderstandings
before the argument of substance can begin."
