    founded in 1946, is the oldest and only statewide organization which seeks to enhance the understanding of geography and promote interaction among academic, applied geographers and members of the general public who have an interest in geography.
  • California Geographical Survey "The Survey is a creation of Dr. William Bowen. Technical assistance is provided by Mr. Robert Provin. It operates for the benefit of the students and faculty of the California State University System, public and parochial school teachers, and the people of the State of California. The purpose of the organization is to promote the discipline of geography in both its academic and applied aspects in the state of Washington. [Article II, Bylaws]

This page expresses AWG's beliefs that the Internet can help serve the community of academic and professional geographers by:
