• Regional transportation plan dropped for this year [Puget Sound Business Journal, June 26, 2002] Voters in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties won't find a regional transportation package on their ballots this fall. Members of the King County Council couldn't come to a timely agreement on what to include in the package, much less reach a consensus with the other two counties involved, Snohomish and Pierce.

  • SIC Division Structure The OES (above) program uses definitions of industries found in the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system. The SIC system is used throughout the federal government to group establishments into industries. The SIC Division Structure makes it possible to collect and calculate establishment data by broad industrial divisions (labeled A through K), industrial groups (the 2- and 3-digit SIC levels), and specific industries (the 4-digit level). See the Standard Industrial Classification Manual, 1987 (Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget), available in many libraries.

  • Washington State Population Survey The Washington State Population Survey is designed to provide a profile of Washington residents between decennial censuses. It collects data on topics such as employment, work experience, income, education, in-migration, health, health insurance, commute pattern, computer ownership, and internet usage, in addition to basic demographics. The first survey was conducted in the spring of 1998. A second survey is being prepared for administration in spring 2000.
    • 2000 Washington State Population Survey The Washington State Population Survey was designed to collect information about Washington State residents every other year. The year 2000 survey data collection has just been completed the end of July. Similar to the 1998 survey, it collects data on basic demographics and topics such as employment, work experience, income, education, in-migration, health, health insurance, commute pattern, computer ownership, and Internet usage. More detailed data on non wage income such as dividend, Supplemental Security Income and unemployment insurance have been added to the 2000 survey... The estimated time for the survey data release is early 2001.
