performance
You create and present a performance piece which may include movement or text and bridge the life art forms of dance, drama, music or poetry. The content of the performance is entirely open to you. The performance also takes access considerations into account in a creative way. The performance will be filmed and published on the class website. You also submit a description of the piece to provide access to the online version.
Duration: 10 minutes and time for set up and questions.
lecture presentation
You research a dance/performance company or individual performer creating work with/about/across disability, integration and diversity. The research may include interviews, library research, video, online sources, academic writing and reviews. You make sure you cite your sources. You present your research in the form of a short lecture. The presentation should encompass biographic information, performance excerpts, work examples as well as reactions from critics and/or audiences and a personal response to the work. While using spoken and written text as well as audio and visual material you take access considerations into account. You may choose to do this via PowerPoint, white board, flip charts, DVD, video etc. You will also create a 400-500 word summary to be posted on the course website.
Duration 15 minutes and time for set up and questions.
