The integrated dance summer intensive has been hosted in the Dance Program at the University of Washington since 2009. The week of classes consists of two connected and overlapping courses. The Five Day Intensive, open to training dancers and community participants and the Round Table, a forum for artists, educators and scholars working in the field of dance and disability.
Five-Day Intensive, August 12-16
Technique, composition/repertory, guest presentations and community classes. This accessible intensive is open to a diversity of participants in terms of body types and levels of dance training. Age range 16 and older.
Round Table, August 12-16 and 17
The Round Table is for experienced artists and educators with a particular interest in educational and choreographic processes in mixed-ability groups. Round Table participants take part in the Five – Day Intensive and contribute as guest presenters. Specific session and the week end are reserved for Round Table participants only.
Call for UW Interns
Are you a student at the University of Washington or based in Seattle and interested in being a part of this event. In return for assisting in the organizational set up you will be able to attend and participate in the course.
