| May 10-12, 2013 Kaleidoscope Dance Concert |
1-2-3 testing is a new commission created with and on a cast of eight Kaleidoscope dancers from the Creative Dance Center in Seattle.
The piece premieres as part of their annual concert at the Broadway Performance Hall alongside new and restaged work by Mary Kay Bisignano-Vadino, Timothy Lynch, Anna Mansbridge, Judith Nelson, Sylvie Baldwin and Sara Grendon

Jürg Koch (MA LCDS London, Assistant Professor, Dance Program, UW Seattle)
Born in Switzerland Jürg has been working internationally as a performer, choreographer and dance educator for the past twelve years. Working with Candoco integrating disabled and non-disabled performers and dancing in contemporary repertory including works by Bill T Jones, Javier de Frutos and Fin Walker informs Jürg’s artistic and pedagogic outlook.
In January 2004 he joined the faculty of the University of Washington as a lecturer and was appointed Assistant Professor, Summer 2008. |

As a performer Koch has been a company member of Diversions Dance Company in Wales UK and CandoCo Dance Company, London. Since moving to Seattle Koch has regularly appeared as a guest artist for the Chamber Dance Company and in contemporary works by artists including Amy O’Neal, Mark Haim and others.
Koch’s choreographic work includes in house productions for the UW, Candoco and Diversions Dance Company in the UK as well as commissions for various dance companies and colleges. His choreography spans from solo repertoire (The Printer’s Tray) to community ensembles (the workshop) and collaborations with new media artists (David Prior, Iole Alessandrini, Lyn Goeringer). Jürg’s work has been included in the Northwest New Works Festival at On the Boards, The Bridge Project at Velocity and the Seattle International Dance Festival.
As an educator Jürg focuses on contemporary dance technique and composition. He has a specialized interest in Integrated Dance and creating access to course content for a diversity of students. He is the organizer of the Integrated Dance Summer Intensive in Seattle. |
