SST found from equation (1) of Schneider (1996), using H (MLD) estimated according to the procedure in equation (2) of S96. The solar radiation is two solar harmonics as given by Reed (1977), and the SST is the Reynolds blended satellite-in situ product, averaged over 1984-93 (see Fig.6).
