BLACK BOX BONUS (B3)
Instructions

To use the Black Box:

1) Find a PC (this version is Mac-incompatible)

2) Download the following and place all downloads in a common folder

i. The Black Box executable

ii. The I text file

iii. The T text file

iv. The L text file

iv. The Condition text file

Rename the Black Box Program, by removing the ".exer" extension and replacing it with ".exe"

If the text files open in a web browser window, then simply save them as a text file from the web browser. All files must be placed in a common folder.

3) Double click on the exectutable to run the Black Box.

4) If you would like to change the Condition file while running the Black Box, please do the following:

i. Wait until the Black Box displays the following: "Please enter 1 to continue and 0 to exit: "

ii. Change the Condition file as you like and make sure to save your changes.

iii. Then type 1 and enter to continue using the Black Box with the new Condition file

5) We recommend that you only consider changing the Condition file (and not the other text files)


For 3 bonus points:

1) Propose one or more hypotheses to account for the data (or part of the data) generated in class and in your personal runs and include any critical tests you executed to distinguish hypotheses.

2) Present your full data (in Table form).

3) Include general comments on what this exercise forces you to think about with regard to performing experiments and testing hypotheses about complex systems.

This report should be no longer than 2 pages. Submit your report in the DropBox before 9:59pm on Sunday, Dec. 13.
