Mt. Roosevelt, September 2003

Roosevelt is the heap of peaks on the far side of Snow Lake. Tesha was trying to decide whether to walk or swim there.

Here she is looking back, from the top of the mountain.

Mt Rainier poked up to say hello. Kaleetan -- Tesha's first big day scramble when she was younger -- is on the far left.

This, I submit, was an unusually good year for lake swimming, with temperatures rising above normal levels. But by September things were chilly again. We jumped in a couple of lakes on this trip, but did not stay in long.

The glory time of the afternoon, in the glory time of year...
