OBJECTIVES
The Department's colloquium series is designed to give students and faculty a chance to share research approaches and findings in a fairly formal setting that does not (generally) require additional reading or the commitment to a 3- or 5-credit course.  All members of the University community are welcome to attend;  visiting scholars, graduate students, and faculty are encouraged to present.

FORMAT

Geography Colloquia meet on Fridays at 2:30 in Communications 228.
The usual format is a brief introduction, a 40-minute presentation, and 15 minutes for questions.  At 3:30, the formal session is followed by informal discussion over refreshments.  Please join us!

CREDIT  AND  GRADING
Students who enroll in Geography 598 receive 1 credit per quarter for attending most colloquium sessions.  Graduate students in Geography should enroll for at least 3 quarters during their time in the program, and are encouraged to enroll when they are in residence.  The course is graded on a Credit/Non Credit basis.
