Evaluate each of the following case scenarios in light of the ACM guidelines. Which guidelines apply? What would you do in each of these situations?

A.  You are a developer and are inadvertently given access free of charge to a proprietary program. Should you use the program without paying the required fee?

B.   You work for a marketing company that has a contract with a government agency. You are processing data concerning children and their parents. You are told by your boss to make a copy of the data for your company’s use. The contract with the government agency does not explicitly prohibit this. Should you make a copy of the data?

C.  Charlotte is your boss at XYZ Computer, and she is also the person who recommended you for your promotion. Over lunch one day, she mentions that XYZ Computer recently donated $1,000 to Charlotte’s favorite non-profit organization. Two weeks later you learn that XYZ Computer has won a contract with this same non-profit organization, even though another contractor’s bid was lower. Should you "blow the whistle" to someone outside the company?
