The
Global Digital / Electronic Government Society (in the course of formation)
welcomes you!
An initiative to create a
professional society for people interested in eGovernment / Digital Government
was launched at the international digital government research conference
(dg.o2005) in Atlanta in May 2005, where a group of scholars and practitioners
began a discussion about the prospects for a sustainable community of people
interested in discovering and applying new knowledge about digital
government.
Various committees were
formed. The committee to create a
Mission Statement for the nascent organization has completed its work; the
discussion and results are here.
This webpage presents the
results of the committee charged with creating a constitution for the society.
After a process of public approval/disapproval via electronic voting, the new
society is scheduled to be launched during the first half of 2006. Below please find hyperlinks to draft
constitutions for the North American and International societies:

and suggestions:
Please stay within the
discussion threads provided by the organizers. You may request the opening of new threads from
the committee
chair, Eduard
Hovy. Postings unrelated to
the discussion of the constitution or with inappropriate language will be
purged from the board without further notice (we hope for your
understanding).
Please mail comments about
the discussion board to Jochen
Scholl.
