This site contains summaries and datasets from the analysis of Thermal
Emission Spectrometer (TES) and Thermal Emission Imaging System
(THEMIS) data. The current 7 Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) candidate
landing sites and their surrounding regions have been analyzed and
mapped with respect to their major spectral units and bulk surface
compositions have been derived. Each link on the left pane of this
page contains a number of data products in image, binary, and ascii
data formats. A summary analysis is also included for each site.
These data products were produced by Joshua Bandfield (University of Washington) and Deanne Rogers (Stony Brook University). Any questions about methods or interpretations should be directed to joshband [AT] u.washington.edu.
This work is funded under the Critical Data Products Initiative for MSL Landing Site Characterization through the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
