Cedar River Field School – Washington

In the late summer of 2004, Peter Lape and Julie Stein lead a UW field school within the Cedar River Watershed. The field school supported Roger Kiers’ efforts to understand the extent of sites along the ancient lake near the summit of the Cascades. The research was confined to mapping artifact distributions and shovel test probes. These data were compared to similar data collected in 1985 to determine the rates of disturbance and landscape change.
