C++ Foundations -- Mailing List
UW Extension     Summer 2002

We have a mailing list for our C++ Foundations class.

A mailing list distributes messages to all subscribers at once. I'll send out class announcements, as well as answers to questions about homework or anything else.

It also gives us an online discussion forum -- you can raise a question by posting to the list, and get the benefit of everyone's experience and knowledge. Of course, you can still send a private email to me if you prefer, but the response may not be as quick. If I think your question is of interest to others, I'll post the answer to this mailing list (your name will not appear) when I reply to you.

When the original list was set up, it was based upon the class list and associated uw email addresses....thus, of course, none of the non-uw addresses were included. To send from a non-uw address, you're going to have to subscribe as follows....

Instructions

1.  First subscribe to the list:
Send an email to the ListProc server listproc@u.washington.edu with this line in the body (not the subject) of the message:

subscribe cppfndsum02 Clyde T. Fiddlebender

where you insert your name in place of Clyde's as shown. Send this message from the address where you'd like to receive the postings.

2. When you want to send a message to the mailing list, address it to cppfndsum02@u.washington.edu. Remember, anything you send to this address will go to the whole class. Don't send personal messages, don't post code for graded projects, and be respectful of others in what you say and how you say it.

For more information on using a mailing list, go to the subscribers reference page.
