Our selection process has served to bring to the residency a diverse group of physicians with a wide range of experience and interests. If we were to underscore some of the characteristics which make for a good match between the Group Health program and its residents, high on the list would be the self-starter who enjoys having a degree of control over his/her learning.
Our graduates have gone on to careers in a broad variety
of geographic and practice settings. Although most have remained
in the western part of the country, we have former residents
in practice around the world. They work in urban, suburban
and rural locations, with practice settings ranging from the
Indian Health Service to community clinics to private practice,
healthcare organizations and academic faculty positions. Some
grads have specialized their scope in geriatrics, urgent care,
occupational medicine, leadership and health administration.
