| The Group Health Family
Medicine Residency is one of the first family medicine residency
programs in the country, founded in 1969, the same year family medicine
became a specialty. We are affiliated with the University of Washington
and the Network of Family Medicine Residencies of Washington, Wyoming,
Alaska, Montana and Idaho
We have maintained a small program to allow us get to know you
and your skills and needs well. Decisions within the residency are
consensus-based. Residents and faculty meet formally at least twice
monthly to discuss issues as they arise. We are an unopposed program
that is education rather then service-driven. Our faculty are excellent
clinicians, educators, and your colleagues in the provision of care.
The program has a total of fifteen residents
and is the only physician residency program at Group Health.
