Card |
Played by a Zookeeper |
Played by a Wild Animal |
|
Jack The Ally |
You may play a single point card to raise the attack or defense score of a zookeeper or animal outside his or her own zoo. To play this card, lay your jack and a single point card from your hand face-up on the board before the attack or defense cards have been turned face-up. |
When a wild animal draws a Jack, it has an attack or defense score of zero, but zookeepers may assist the animal. Each player may play one point card face-up to help the animal. |
|
Queen The Benefactor |
You may play this card at any time. Simply discard the Queen and draw cards from the deck until you have five cards in your hand. |
When a wild animal draws a Queen, it may draw five more cards. From those cards, the animal chooses a single one using this order of priority: Ace, Joker, King, Queen, 10 through 2, or Jack. In other words, the animal plays an Ace if one is drawn; if no ace is drawn, it plays the King, and so on. |
|
King The King of the Jungle |
You may play this card when an idle big cat is in the wild. Lay the card face up, say "cat on the loose!", and declare which cat is attacking which animal. See Additional Rules below for details |
When a wild animal draws a King from the deck, it manages to harm its opponent. If its opponent is another wild animal, it kills the other animal. If its opponent is a zookeeper, the player is seriously wounded and loses his or her next turn.. |
|
Ace The Reaper |
This card is like a "1" point card when played from a zookeeper's hand. If it matches the color of the defending animal, it is worth two points. |
When a wild animal draws an Ace, it becomes endangered. Set the Ace face-up on the game board (outside of the wild) and place upon it all members of the animal's species that are currently in the wild or in zoos. See Additional Rules below for details. |
|
Joker The Trader |
You may play this card only at the beginning of your turn. Lay it face-up in the discard pile, then trade any one of your zoo animals for one animal in another zoo. If you have no animals, you may simply take one animal from another zookeeper's zoo. |
When an attacking wild animal draws a Joker, it kills its prey. When a defending wild animal draws the Joker, it defends itself no matter what. If both an attacking and a defending wild animal draw a joker at the same time, the attack is unsuccessful. |
