I'm currently looking for field technicians for Summer 2009, for PhD students to start Winter, Spring, or Summer 2009, and for a postdoc to start when available. Projects include work in Yosemite National Park, California and in Mt. Rainier and North Cascades National Parks, Washington

Applications are invited from students with bachelor's or master's degrees in hydrology, civil engineering, atmospheric science, physics, geology, soil science, earth sciences, oceanography, mathematics, computer science, or quantitative ecology.

Desired skills include: Experience with outdoor activities, particularly in mountain environments; Ability to communicate clearly in both written and spoken English; Logical reasoning; Ability to solve quantitative problems and run computer models; Strong desire to get PhD.

I am looking for two field technicians, one stationed in Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park, California, and one stationed in the Pacific Northwest, to work on an hourly basis from June to September, 2009. Duties will include data entry, deploying and retrieving temperature and stream sensors, programming sensors, and taking stream discharge measurements.
