Conference Information

The International Conference on PRT and Other Emerging Technologies, was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota in November, 1996. A conference report is available. APM 97 - took place in Las Vegas, Nevada in April 9-13, 1997 at the Mirage Hotel/Casino. Contact Prof. Ed Neumann, Chairman of the conference, for more information: . Ph: 702-895-1072; fax: 702-895-3936. The theme was Creative Access for Major Activity Centers. This was the 6th International Conference on Automated People Movers . Attendees included representatives of governments and transportation planning agencies, private developers, members of consulting firms, operators of existing systems, vehicle and system suppliers and educators. The program included 23 technical sessions featuring over 80 presentations. An exhibit area provided an opportunity to talk informally with vendors of equipment and services. This conference was sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers in cooperation with numerous other professional organizations. A Proceedings will be available from ASCE in August, 1997. Ordering information can be obtained at The next APM conference (#7) is scheduled for Copenhagen, Denmark in the spring of 1999. Larry Fabian is the U.S. coordinator for this conference.
