Abstract

The science backing up the claim that anthropogenic greenhouse gasses are contributing substantially to the rise in global mean temperature is strong. There are now very few skeptics who maintain that human energy consumption, in the form of burning hydrocarbon based fuels, is not contributing greatly to the detected rise in the global mean temperature of 0.6 degrees C over the last century. This sub-topic is devoted to enumerating the scientific basis for global warming as a knowledge repository (KR) for reference.

Comments

  1. The science of global warming should include all known phenomena that affect the climate, including natural negative feedbacks such as natural sequestration mechanisms (oceans, forests, etc.).
    Author:George Mobus
    Date Created: 9/5/2004
    Abstract:
It would be non-objective to only focus on the factors that contribute positively to the warming trend. To be completely representative of the state of the science behind global warming, this knowledge repository should include the science behind any known negative feedbacks that might mitigate global warming naturally.
