Short Bio
Xianjun Geng is an Assistant Professor in Information Systems at the University of Washington. He received his Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Economics, and Master of Engineering from Tsinghua
University, Beijing, China, and Ph.D. in Information Systems from
the University of Texas at Austin. His research addresses the
economic impacts of Internet-enabled IT on consumer behavior and
firm strategy. His current research focuses are: (1) the impact of
the Internet on pricing; (2) new business models on rich-media
content; (3) trust and security in the digital economy; and (4)
piracy and digital rights management. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in
academic journals including
Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly,
Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Marketing, and Marketing Science.
He is an Associate Editor of Decision Support Systems. At University of Washington he has won Lex N. Gamble Family Award for Excellence in the Field of E-Commerce (2005) for his research, and Undergraduate Instructor of the Quarter (Autumn 2005,
Winter 2008, also nominated in Autumn 2007) for his teaching.
