Instructions and notes for the 2013 Volcano Conference

 

Arrival, Food, and Check-in

***PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE AT PACK FOREST ON FRIDAY BEFORE 6 PM!***

Please Read: Because of the popularity of the Volcano conference and the relative scarcity of beds at the conference center, room assignments will be made in advance. Please make changes to these arrangements ONLY after all group have arrived and all parties involved (including other residents of the rooms in question) have no objections. Pack Forest is required to offer separate housing for attendees and advisors and for male and female attendees.

 

Name tags will be provided Friday evening.

There is no dinner on Friday night and no lunch on Sunday, so eat on the road. NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS PERMITTED as per Pack Forest policy. Also, please remember that the nearest town (Eatonville) is very small and has a few restaurants.

so make plans to eat before you reach Pack Forest on Friday night.

Linens (bath towels, bed sheets and blankets) will be provided. Bring warm clothes for X-country skiing, etc. at Mt. Rainer on Sat. afternoon. If so inclined, you can buy beverages (beer or wine or non-alcoholics, no hard liquor!) for the social hours on your way to Pack Forest. Eatonville is 10-15 min away from Pack Forest if you want to re-stock.

 

Speakers

All speakers have 20 min to talk and 5 min for questions. The Keynote Speaker has 50 min + 10 min questions.

A PC projector will be provided along with a lap top. Please bring your talk on a CD or memory stick.
