PRICAI 2010 Special Session on Methods for the (Semi-)automatic Creation of Language Resources for Asian Languages

Invitation and Session Themes

Language resources (e.g., parallel/comparable corpora, treebanks/Propbank/discourse treebanks, WordNet, FrameNet, and dictionaries) are invaluable for natural language processing. In the past two decades, there have been much effort in creating such resources; however, many of the studies rely on manual annotation, which is labor extensive and expensive. This special session aims to provide an opportunity for researchers to share their ideas and efforts in automating the process of creating language resources for Asian languages. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
