Language resources (e.g., parallel/comparable corpora,
treebanks/Propbank/discourse treebanks, WordNet, FrameNet,
and dictionaries)
are invaluable for natural language processing.
In the past two decades, there have been much effort in creating
such resources; however, many of the studies rely on manual annotation,
which is labor extensive and expensive.
This special session aims to provide an opportunity for researchers
to share their ideas and efforts in automating the process of creating
language resources for Asian languages. Topics of interest include but
are not limited to:
- Automatic extraction of bilingual/comparable corpora from the Web
- Automatic compilation of bilingual/multi-lingual dictionaries
- (Semi-)automatic annotation of treebanks
- (Semi-)automatic creation of WordNet and FrameNet for a new language
- Automatic merging of language resources with different annotation
schemes and/or from different sources
Papers for special sessions should be prepared in accordance with the
PRICAI 2010 requirements, and submitted through the
PRICAI 2010 submission website. Please remember to submit the paper to the track corresponding to the special session
so that the submission system recognises your paper as part of this special session.
