Impact of CRT Regulations on Project
Due to current regulations in many states the handling and recycling of CRTís is relatively expensive. Although not considered a hazardous material in a household regulations exist in many states that require permits for proactively handling CRTs.
CRTís must be transported across state lines as hazardous waste which increases transportation cost.
Therefore it was cheaper to export CRTís to a foreign country where transportation costs were paid by the importer.
