PURIFICATION OF ETHYLENE
Before being used to produce polyethylene, ethylene is purified to almost pure ethylene. In other to achieve that level of purity, water in ethylene is dried out. Other substances in ethylene are also removed through several steps. For instance,methane is removed by having the compound flow through demethanizer.This purification step of ethylene is termed ethylene fractionation.
