Chemistry Teaching Graphics Videos - go to chemVideos

Chemistry video tutorials for independent study or classroom projection are now being created at chemVideos to replace the earlier collection here of Adobe Director interactive teaching units which depended on the now discontinued Adobe Shockwave platform.

Although not as interactive as the old Shockwave units, the new videos can still be paused and/or stepped back in time to prior screens using the movie slider control.  Explanatory material, rather than in audio scripts as before, will instead be shown as text on screen in the new videos.

Teachers interested in animated computer graphics for student use or classroom presentations to illustrate dynamic processes, complex 3D structure or relationships, and the microscopc molecular view of matter are welcome to contact the author (email: woodmandj@aol.com) for more information about the videos or to make suggestions for improvements or for possible new topics to cover.

Chem Videos still has descriptions of the entire old Shockwave collection to provide some information about the topics that will be ccvered in the new video series, even though the old units can no longer be played by internet browsers.

Only the first of the new videos (Haworth Formulas) is available so far in chemVideos and provides an initial sample of the video format.being developed.  However, that video doesn't include molecular or orbital graphics common in the old units.  To get a better flavor of what the  typical graphics look like, a few very preliminary short videos, which were published several years ago on YouTube, can be viewed as summarized below.
