Türk embassy to Constantinople led by a Soghdian Maniakh, the idea being to bypass or combine against Sasanians.

Türk war agains Sasanians; penetration of Kabul and Gandhara regions.

Türk rulers receiving 100,000 pieces of silk a year from China as presents [read, "tribute"]. Theirs is the first Eurasian steppe empire to extend from Roman/Byzantine world in west, Iranian/Sasanian in south and Chinese in East. The next example of such an empire is that of the Mongols.

Türk Empire splits into Eastern and Western halves. Period when Khwarezm (lower part of Amu Darya R., S. of Aral Sea) and Sugd/Sogdiana (Zerafshan and Kashka Darya R., including area around Samarkand) likely autonomous kingdoms which become independent only with T'ang defeat of Türks in next century, on the eve of the Arab invasions.
